Dr. Derek Pollard grew up in Coquitlam, BC. He received a Bachelor of Science with honors at SFU, majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Biochemistry. After leaving SFU, he attended the University of Manitoba for Dentistry and graduated with honors in 2007. After practicing general dentistry in Winnipeg for a year, he returned to the University of Manitoba and attended their graduate Orthodontic program. There he spent three years completing his specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and obtained a Masters of Orthodontics. After graduation, Dr. Pollard and his wife Courtney relocated out to beautiful Kelowna to start their dental careers. 3 practices and 2 kids later, life is very busy! When they aren<sup>’</sup>t at work, they enjoy spending free time with their daughter Isla and son Clarke, and keeping fit with snowboarding, wakeboarding, biking, golf, and tennis. Dr. Derek Pollard is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Canadian & American Association of Orthodontists, and College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. He is also the founder of the Kelowna Orthodontic Study Club (KOSC) and Okanagan Orthodontic Specialist Society (OOSS).
