Dr. Felty was a double major at Villanova University where she was also a member of the varsity swim team. After completing her undergraduate degrees, she attended Temple University where she was awarded her Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD). She finished her training with a two-year residency program to focus on orthodontic treatment, and was granted a Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and a Masters in Oral Biology. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and specialist in orthodontics. She is a past clinical instructor in the undergraduate dental program at UBC and is a current instructor in the Damon Clinic within the UBC Graduate Orthodontic Department. Dr. Felty enjoys staying active within her professional community. She serves as a mentor for dental students at UBC and was selected to a be a part of an Emerging Leaders Committee by the AAO and a New Dentist Task Force by the BCDA. Dr. Felty grew up in rural Pennsylvania and met her husband while attending dental school. She has moved to Abbotsford, the town where her husband grew up and where he is also currently practicing. She enjoys traveling, swimming and spending time with family and friends. She successfully swam across the English Channel as a part of a relay team in 2009, and after a break is back in the water with the local masters team. Hopefully you'll be able to cheer her on at some future meets! Dr. Felty also enjoys playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Bernice and her daughters Raya, Della, and Lenna.
