Dr. Young Tze Kuah

Dr. Kuah was born in Singapore but grew up in West Vancouver. He attended the University of British Columbia, earning his degree in Dentistry in 1993. Following Dental School, Dr. Kuah attended a 3 year program at the University of Connecticut Health Centre where he received his Diploma in Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Masters Degree in 1996. Finally, Dr. Kuah received his Diploma in Orthodontics from a 2-year program at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Kuah is the second dentist in B.C. to have specialized in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. He is both a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in British Columbia. In addition to private practice, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia having taught both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics to undergraduate dental students, post-graduate orthodontic and pediatric dental residents, and clinical orthodontics training to Certified Dental Assistants. He was on medical staff at British Columbia Children Hospital 1999 to 2016. He speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. Dr. Kuah is a member of both the Canadian and American Associations of Orthodontists, the Canadian and American Academies of Pediatric Dentists, and their respective provincial and local societies. He is also a Fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD) in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kuah joined the Monarch Pediatric Dental in 1998 as a pediatric dental associate. In 2000, he founded the Monarch Orthodontic Centre.
